ATTN: FE Design & Consulting
327 E 2nd St. #222
Los Angeles, CA 90012
Dear FE Design & Consulting Human Resources Representative,
I was excited to see the Associate Planner, Urban Planning position with FE Design &
Consulting advertised on indeed.com.
I have professional experience as a Planner, GIS
Technician, Grant Writer that I can apply to successfully perform this role with your company.
This is the kind of work that I imagined myself doing after graduate school.
I’ve completed four advanced internships with the City of Oceanside, City of Lemon Grove,
Sierra Club of San Diego, and Circulate San Diego, and have recently worked as a Junior
Planner for Reid Planning, Inc. through a temporary agency. My roles provided current and
advanced planning, and active and public transportation advocacy, and I submitted
commentary on CEQA-EIR/NEPA-EIS documents at the Sierra club of San Diego. I’m
experienced in writing staff reports, researching demographics for plans and profiles,
determining zoning regulations and dimensional standards, reading cadastral information,
using check lists to determine project conformance, ministerial and discretionary permitting,
and reading drawings and maps.
I recently completed my Masters of City Planning to supplement my Bachelors of Geography:
Urban and Regional Analysis from San Diego State University. The majority of my classes
were in environmental science and policy, planning policy, fiscal analysis, GIS, and statistics.
For the past two years, I worked as a Grant Writer researching grantors and funding
opportunities for my clients. I’m currently volunteering with the San Diego River Park
Foundation helping to implement their master plan, while reviewing habitat and community
plans, and Land Use Development Codes and Zoning Law.
I’m passionate helping to build an environment which suits the needs for populations today and
tomorrow. I’m a proven professional writer and want to work for the best. I’m punctual, detail
oriented, capable of prioritizing projects and meeting work deadlines, and able to work alone or
with project teams.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to meeting with you soon.
Sincerely,
Scott Davis
